S4 Institute » Audience and Application

The Institute is open to all Brown University researchers. There will be no financial obligation for participating in the Institute. No prior training in GIS is necessary. At the conclusion of the institute, all participants will be required to present their project and submit a final report.

Individuals who wish to attend the Institute must submit an application. The complete application is available online and must be submitted through the S4 website. Applicants will be asked to include a short abstract of the research they would like to conduct as part of the Institute. We anticipate projects that will contribute to dissertations and other ongoing research activities. These might take the form of core analysis, a chapter or manuscript, or other essential element of the dissertation or research program. Prospective participants are encouraged to discuss the Institute with their supervisory team and/or S4 related faculty about potential research projects.
